We Are SkeptiXX was started out of blog founder Julia Lavarnway’s♠ frustration and dismay over the lack of support for and recognition of women in many organizations in the formal skeptics movement.
We are SkeptiXX prides itself on being inclusive of all women and supporters of women in skepticism, regardless of their chromosomal makeup. Read our post about the blog’s name for more on this.

We Are SkeptiXX 
Hi, I’d just like to point out that the title of this blog is pretty goddam transphobic/trans-erasing. Not every woman has XX chromosomes, and not every person with XX chromosomes is a woman.
I strongly agree with the need for more representation of under-privileged skeptics (being a non-male and non-white skeptic and atheist myself). But couldn’t we just do it without the trans erasure?
Maybe, if people continue to be dissatisfied by the explanation of the blog’s name, you could add a little subtitle- like, “We are Skeptixx” and then beneath that “… at heart”. That would convey the symbolic nature of the XX and show that being a woman is not just a biological destiny, but a state of mind, or a certain way of identifying oneself.
I think that it’s a great idea to blog about women skeptics. There is nothing wrong with having more awareness of Atheist women. Love to read more.

Oh spare us. And when we say “Stand on your own two feet” it’s an insult to three-legged humans. Boo hoo. Life’s so unfair, isn’t it? Get over yourself. Normal people write assuming that most of the audience is normal.
