I think u need to review the literature with evidenced based practice. Home births are not dangerous. People who lack appropriate knowledge and support are dangerous. I am a labor and delivery nurse as well as a student nurse midwife and I have seen the highs and lows of L and D. The vast majority of morbidity and mortality rates amongst neonate a occur in hush risk populations, mothers who are appropriately managed by health care providers during their pregnancies, and women who receive unnesecary interventions while attending hospital births…..I’m an advocate for mothers and babies and to that all I can advise is that you all review literature on evidenced based practice. One really great example is The National Birth Center Study which is a historical piece of literature that was published in the late 1980s. The study was completed over the course of three years from 1982-1985 if I recall correctly. Enjoy, it’s an AWESOME read;)
